Local Events
There is always something happening in York Beach and the surrounding area. From seasonal celebrations to annual traditions, here are some of the local events our guests look forward to most.

July 4th Weekend
Fourth of July Fireworks
Join us for fireworks at dusk at Short Sands Beach to celebrate the nation's birth!

Late July / Early August
York Days
York's annual town celebration with fireworks, crafts fair, road race and more! For exact dates and updates check out the York Parks & Recreation pages.

Labor Day Weekend
Labor Day Beach Bonfire
This annual beach bonfire fundraiser brings the York community together to celebrate the end of summer and helps fundraise for our local community service organizations.

Saturday after Thanksgiving
Lighting of the Anchorage Inn & Nubble Light
Just down the beach from us, the most photographed lighthouse in the US will turn on its holiday lights on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Anchorage Inn helps ring in the holiday season with our own lights, visit from Santa, hot chocolate bar, firepits, ice bar, DJ and a fireworks display on the same day. Don't miss out on this fun festive family event!

First Weekend of December
Festival of Lights
Keep the festive spirit going with a nice list of jolly activities. Events in town include the Festival of Fostering Trees, holiday ornament decorating, and a polar express reenactment. It all culminates on Saturday with the annual festival of lights parade through the York Village.

February
February Kids Vacation Week
The holidays may be over and spring is far from springing, but you can make your winter days a little brighter with a hotel stay and a visit to Sun and Surf Restaurant, which is open on the weekends for February break. The indoor pools are open and ready for kids to jump in and get rid of that indoor winter energy!
